Sustainable Summer
Sarah Mota is one of the volunteers who worked in the "Sustainable summer" volunteering team and she mentioned the following: "My volunteering in Finland was an absolutely amazing experience. This project was very intense on an emotional level but also very enriching on an intellectual level.
After two weeks in Finland, the group has learnt more about sustainability and also implemented some of the new knowledge by creating seal friendly fish traps, bird houses, cleaned the open spaces and also had the chance to do orientation in nature! 🌳 Being able to discover Finnish culture and their harmonious relationship with nature allowed me to expand my knowledge but also to reflect on what I could improve in my daily life." 🌈
The first week just finished and the participants had the chance to understand better what is volunteering, what is European Solidarity Corps, Finnish ways of protecting the environment and practical ways of implementing the knowledge in their daily lives. 🌱
They cleaned branches from the trees, created safe fish traps, bird houses, and discovered around Punkaharju and Savonlinna. 🐦🐟It is inspiring to see young people so interested and involved in promoting and protecting the environment! ♥️
